Gayle’s Story
Gayle Edwards Gurto
Michele
This is how I
will remember
her - having fun
at a big Italian
wedding
surrounded by
people who
love each other.
I will miss you
and I will never
forget our
conversations.
Diane Barry Alan Shannon
We are
heartbroken.
The Gurto
Family has lost
its youngest
“Senior” and
has another
Angel to watch
over us. We
will always
remember Aunt
Gayle’s smile
and her laugh,
her positive
outlook no
matter what
health
challenges she
was facing, and
her love and
kindness she
shared with all
of us. She was
a very special
Aunt and friend.
Our thoughts
and prayers are
with you at this
very difficult
time. Aunt
Gayle was so
loved by the
Gurto Family
and will be
greatly missed.
She will always
have a special
place in our
hearts.
Joe
Aunt Gayle
was the most
positive and
loving
person one
could ever
meet. We
share in this
deep grief
with Uncle
Pat and
Sherry. Our
family has
again been
diminished
but our love
and
memories of
Aunt Gayle
never will.
Rest in
Peace.

He was so proud of his little girl.
It was her very first day of school.
He walked with her to school that day,
And she held his hand all the way.
They walked together quiet and sad,
A little girl and her loving dad.
Into the school her father led,
But he almost cried when she said,
"Daddy, Daddy, please don't go.
Don't leave me here all alone.
I'll miss you if you go away,
And I might need you; can't you stay?"
"Little Daughter, please don't cry.
You'll be okay, so dry your eyes.
You have our memories in your heart.
We're together though we're apart."
He sat up front on her wedding day
And cried as his daughter walked away.
Later that night he watched her dance.
He sat there waiting for his chance.
The band started to play their song.
Father and daughter danced along.
She looked at him and saw a tear
Then leaned and whispered in his ear,
"Daddy, Daddy, I have to go.
I hate to leave you all alone.
I'll miss you when I go away,
But if you need me then I'll stay."
"Little Daughter, I'll be just fine.
I'll love you always; you are mine.
I have our memories in my heart.
We're together though we're apart."
She came in his room and kissed his head
Then sat next to his hospital bed.
He took her hand and held it tight
And wished he had the strength to fight.
They sat together, quiet and sad,
A daughter and her dying dad.
He saw the tears she tried to hide.
She looked at him and then she cried.
"Daddy, Daddy, please don't go.
Don't leave me here all alone.
I'll miss you when you go away.
I still need you; you have to stay."
"Little Daughter, I love you so.
I want to stay but have to go.
I'll always be here in your heart.
We're together though we're apart."

Heartbroken over the sad news of our cousin Sharen's passing. I have many, many
family and eventful memories of Sharen, from her walking me to kindergarten class
at Lakeview Elementary School, taking the scarey shortcut through the fields where
the large fishnets were treated, to the trips to Las Vegas and Wisconsin casinos.
(She ALWAYS won, I didn't). We often visited Sharen and David when we lived in
Minnesota and later traveled there for summer visits with Alan. We are all thankful
for the lifetime of family photos and videos and special gifts she, David and Jimmy
presented to the Seniors. She was always caring and generous in everything she
did. Year after year, she traveled to be with the Family until she was unable, but still
kept us all connected through FB, messages and phone calls. Being the great
photographer she was, I'm sure she would give me advice on how to make these
photos perfect.
I spoke with her on her 80th birthday in September. There was a party going on and
she was also looking forward to seeing Greg, Amanda and the grandkids that
weekend for another celebration. She was happy.
The close relationship she had with Melina and her children was so special. It was
one way for Melina and Sharen to share their love of Pam.
Barry, Alan and I offer our deepest sympathy to David, Greg and his Family, and
Jimmy. Sharen's passing is such a painful and great loss to all of our Family, the
Family that she loved so dearly.
Rest in Peace Cousin and celebrate Pam's birthday and Christmas with her.
I will always remember you, your sense of humor and you being the Number 1
grandchild. You have always been special.
Love,
Diane
Jim Speer
Thanks all the memories is Sharen, she was indeed "special!' As I always called her
Sheila Schneider
Diane, that was such a beautiful tribute. You captured her to a ‘T’. She truly was kind
and generous. She loved coming to the reunions and always seemed to enjoy being
with family. She also had a great sense of humor.
Her smile and laugh were infectious. I can’t believe she’s gone. She will surely be
missed by all who knew and loved her .
I too would like to extend my sincerest condolences to David, Greg & Amanda and
Jimmy as well
as her grandchildren.
Rest in peace our dear Sharen.
You will be remembered with love and treasured for your kindness.

That was beautiful Diane. Sharen touched so many lives I never realized how many
of us looked up to her. She kept the family informed and updated for birthday,
anniversaries and special occasions.... with all the photos she had. We always
looked forward to her old-fashioned slideshows when she's come back to Conneaut.
I know Pam and Rosie were waiting to greet her, and youare right Diane, she gets to
spend Christmas with Pam and Rosie ( her two angels in heaven), so many other
family and relatives

As the first of the 32 cousins, Sharen's always stressed the importance of the family.
Sharen attended as many family reunions as possible and promoted them to
everyone. She organised the thousands of family photos and documents and
shared them with the family to ensure that the story would not be lost or forgotten.
Sharen was looked up to by the cousins and well respected by all of us. I'm sure we
will all miss the daily reminders of family birthdays and anniversaries. We will all
miss you Sharen. Thank you for being there for us.
